OK, now this might not look like much, as this card probably books for $2 raw, but this is a big one for me. This card completes my '80s Topps and OPC PSA graded run of Jari Kurri. The rest of the run has been complete for probably six years, but I had never seen this Topps 86/87 version in graded form. After looking for years, a friend of mine offered to submit one of my raw ones to PSA to complete my run. This was the result, and if you check the pop report you will see it is the only "9" recorded. Of course, very few of this Topps version have been graded. I might be the only one to get excited about a single like this, but I'm really excited to finally add this, and grateful to my good friend for getting it graded for me.

Here's some pick-ups from the Toronto Expo last weekend:

• 1952 Juniors Blue Tint #139 Henri Richard (Pre-Rookie)
• 1970 OPC Bobby Orr Sticker Stamps PSA 8
• 1970-71 Post Cereal Hockey Mini Stick Decal Bobby Orr (Tough!)
• 1970-71 Bobby Orr Team Issue (Includes "Saskatoon Motor Products Ltd." stamp on reverse)
• 1987-88 Hull Olympiques Police Safety Issue Wayne Gretzky (Signed) This card is one of the tougher Gretzky Police cards to locate!

Well done, Jeff.

How was the Expo? I wasn't able to make it to this one either!

Very nice, my friend. There was a low-grade Wilt Chamberlain that recently sold on eBay - did you see that one?

No I must have missed that one. I did see the PSA 6 Jerry West in REA that sold for almost 10K though. Yikes.

After all the great stuff posted recently (a Topps Test Russell, are you kidding?), these are almost embarrassing to post but I had a nice visit to my LCS and pulled these from a $0.50 cent box and had a great time doing it:

I loved 70s basketball. Seeing McGinnis there reminds me of what a great player I, and lots of others, thought he would be. I remember years later reading an article to the same effect, with a title, and I think I remember it, "Oh, What Might Have Been." Yes, he made the HOF eventually for his ABA years, but he had all-time great potential IMO.

I suppose you could say something similar about Thompson, although he had somewhat more success than McGinnis and didn't IMO fall as far short of his potential. I saw him live as a sophomore. He went for something like 40 against a great Maryland team. He could leap out of the building.

And here it is.
