Made by the player family as an homage? Passed down for generations would explain the multiple sets of pinholes, and the wrong spelling of "Soxs".

Seems plausible. Minor leagues would explain the cheap paper and typo, the checklist includes this player and 1950 is around the year I was guessing. Unfortunately I can’t find any photos of the set to confirm.
