Ha. When I tell my wife, this may be the only thing in bed to lay with. But seriously, I regretted not buying one a few years back, and I just felt like I was always going to make room to buy this card, so the sooner the better, I suppose. I wasn't that turned off by the rip on the back -- I never look at the back, you know? I mean, if I had $100k, I might think differently....but not at the moment.

Would love to pick up an E135 Hornsby someday, but yeah, big $$$! There is a nice PSA 3 in the current REA auction (already sitting at $6,500).

Thanks for the comment on the Hornsby. They are definitely tough, been looking for a decent Pennock for (literally) years...

I know they're just commons but these are the first pre-war/non-Topps cards I've picked up in a long time. Have been preoccupied with postwar set building.

I enjoy adding clean commons as much as big name players from any set and at a lot less money. Same history and many times a lot more interesting. (and you gotta love the nicknames!)

Those are very nice '41 PB's. I really like the vibrant colors of that set.

Default Goudey Lajoie

Love that Lajoie! I assume you were referring to the 1933 set (and not 1934, which some people attribute it to). Either way -- amazing card, with great clarity!!!

Was happy to pick up SC 350/25 versions of these. These were harder to find than I expected compared to the 350/30s.
