almost a transition between early and middle signatures of his. That being said I am not a fan of this ball.

Looks good to me, that was his early/mid 90s signature.

Here's a 1993 example(not mine) from classic inserted in packs (factory certified).
I have a ball from Scoreboard dated to 1992 that has an almost identical signature. I'll post it later if I can dig it out of my closet.
